Never heard of it. But looks good. Usually mixing MMO's and FPS fails, but this might succeed. Good thing they don't limit your view to FPS, but that you can use a 3rd person view like normal MMO's. Is the entire world FFA PvP, or it's regional fights only? (sound like scenarios).
When's release?

This is an FPS with mmo elements, not the other way around. Many of my friends are playing beta, I haven't decided on a pre-order yet.

Release is next month.. Feb 1st.. Tenebrion turned me on to the game... Im in the Beta and having fun.. the are soem great MMO elements to it.. like owning and defending your territories from enemy Agencies(Clans/Guilds) the gameplay is fast but I believe they decided to make it 3rd person recently. They really want to cater to tradtional MMO players who are tired of Tolkien-eske retreads. check out this video.

I also posted on TCS's Forums a bit more information on the "Conquest mechanics and some reviews. (you gotta register to see the forum)

So far as far as guilds we know and have played against, I see Dogma and BlackWatch in the Beta.

definitely some influence from planetside there. I think giving people a free vs. subscription choice opens it up to more players and is probably smart.

looks like no-subscription is for PvE, so if you want to have the guild vs. guild PvP and territorial control you'll have to pay the subscription.
I'm curious as to whether you can advance solely through PvP or if you're required to do PvE.
Gotta love this video

EDIT: Quickshot, what about instancing? I read "a team of 4 can go on a mission, blah blah blah", and I thought, crap, are those instanced? I hope this isn't instanced all over.

From what I've read it sounds like this game is heavily instanced. I've decided to pre-purchase the game and give it a go. Looking forward to trying it out tonight if the servers are up. I'll be in-game as Microfine. |

I have been beta testing Global Agenda with some of my old friends from DtD and I'll throw out my own personal opinion.
The game is not an MMORPG. It has no expansive world, it has no story, it has nothing that will drive you to keep levelling (The gear does nothing but change your looks *which I like, but some people won't).
The only thing it does have is fun, strategic PVP instances and a shitload of imbalances. The instances themselves are on a queue system, a la WAR. At present time, you can only queue with 4 of your group mates altogether, and when you jump into a 10 on 10 match, 4 people working together and 6 others staring at a wall is not my cup of tea.
The instances themselves require strategic points rather than just kill counts ala modern warfare. You either have to capture points, stop enemies from advancing an objective (usually a large mine they move forward to bomb your base), or push that objective into enemy territory. Another recently shown instance puts one of your members (on each team) into a mech, which then has to make its way into the enemy base 3 times. Sounds all fine and dandy, but you usually get some retard in the mech who thinks its for killing people and runs around and doesn't go to the objective, which ruins the whole match for everyone.
The FPS portion is fun, it's a class based dumbed down FPS where one shot kills don't work. Your characters evolve gaining more HP and defensive abilities. The problem with your character having so much defense and life is that you can be whacking away on an opponent or lighthing them up with your gatling gun and they can simply fly away and dismiss your presence. If i sneak up on someone in an FPS, they should be dead, end of story.
The imbalances in classes are very apparent as well, medics run rampant doing more damage than recons while healing at the same time, and robotics set up camps which mutilate anyone who crosses their turrets (70% of players are playing these two classes, and every instance you get in has half robotics).
In my opinion, it is a fun FPS, I enjoy it despite it's shortcomings, and the guild vs guild conquest is fun, but it sure as well isn't worth paying monthly for. All it is is another instance but this time it actually is YOUR base, with nothing really setting it too far apart from normal instance combat.
Edit: This game is entirely instanced base to answer your statement coder.

What's BC 2 all about? What kind of features/gameplay are we looking at here?
